HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- Dr. Reginald Ho is a practicing medical oncologist at the Straub Clinic and Hospital in Honolulu where he established the Department of Hematology and Oncology. He joined the clinical faculty at the John A. Burns School of Medicine in 1967 to teach medical students, residents, and medical technologists and held the rank of Clinical Professor of Medicine there from 1977 to 2008. He has been associated with the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii since its founding in 1972 and presently holds the title of Clinical Science Adjunct Professor at the Center. His research interests are in cancer treatment clinical trials.
Since the 1980s Dr. Ho has served on the boards of organizations such as the Blood Bank of Hawaii, Catholic Services to Families, Hospice Hawaii and Saint Louis School where he served as chairman of its Board of Trustees and presently is an emeritus member. He also established a scholarship fund at the school in memory of his parents. When the Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness, Research, and Training, was formed in 2000, Dr. Ho was appointed its Clinical Director. In that position, he developed and directed the clinical activities of the organization. He collaborated with physicians who cared for Asian American patients and designed programs to promote best cancer care for that population.
