HONOLULU (AP) - President Barack Obama's political organization has sent out an undisclosed number of e-mails to Hawaii residents urging them to support Democrat Colleen Hanabusa for the 1stCongressional District seat. In the e-mail, dated Saturday, Obama writes that he needs Hanabusa in Congress to help further his agenda.
He charges that if Republicans win the seat and take over the House, they will try to repeal the health insurance and Wall Street reform laws passed earlier this year.
Hanabusa is challenging Republican U.S. Rep. Charles Djou, who won the seat in a May special election. The e-mail was sent by Organizing for America, an arm of the Democratic National Committee.
