HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - With Neil Abercrombie taking a break from the governor's race, Duke Aiona is going on the offensive. He's saying his challenger is stonewalling on his proposed debate schedule.
Candidate for governor, Duke Aiona, said, "I've laid it out to Neil. He has yet to respond to this. We should have had something done today. I don't know what he's waiting for. I've said that he's ducking. He's definitely ducking at this point in time because he hasn't responded at all."
Aiona said he has tentatively accepted two debates but would not name the sponsors, but Abercrombie's people say he's already appeared or agreed to appear in fifteen debates or forums.
An Abercrombie spokesperson says, "The people of Hawaii have had many opportunities to learn about Neil and his plans to solve the problems that have been ignored for far too long."
