City to adjust errant sewer bills

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The city is working to adjust sewer bills sent to customers in which customers were billed for a longer than usual cycle. The customers most impacted are on the Leeward side, between Waianae and Aiea.

The billing periods were longer than usual because meter readings were delayed. A new, higher sewer base charge which went into effect on July 1 also made bills higher than in previous billing cycles.

The city is in the process of identifying affected customers. These customers will have their next bill credited to reflect corrected charges.
