HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two warning sirens went off unintentionally on Oahu Wednesday afternoon on different parts of the island. The first report came from Hauula at around 5:00 PM, where residents reported hearing a siren running for around ten minutes.

Officials tried to shut the siren off remotely, but it did not work. The fire department was able to manually shut it down.

Shortly afterwards, a siren in Nuuanu began sounding. Officials were able to turn that siren off by remote control.
