Baby formula recalled; may contain insect parts

WASHINGTON (AP) - Abbott Laboratories says it is recalling millions of containers of its best-selling Similac infant formula that may be contaminated with insect parts. The recall affects up to five million Similac-brand powder formulas sold in the US, Puerto Rico, Guam and some Caribbean countries.

The Hawaii state Department of Health (DOH) is unable to confirm if the recalled product has been distributed and sold in Hawaii. As of Wednesday afternoon, the DOH had not received any reports of related illness due to consumption of the product.
