HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - We've been getting 2,000 more people per day than last year at this time, putting arrivals up 12 percent. Japan arrivals are ebbing from summer levels and are now up only 4 percent from last year... but mainland traffic is way better than last year... up 9 percent to Oahu, up 12 percent to Kauai, up 28 percent to both Maui and the Big Island.

It's called prime... which stands for Pacific Rim Incentives & Meetings Exchange. More than 300 meeting planners gather today at Hilton Waikoloa Village for Thursday and Friday sessions, meetings and tours. Usually this event leads to convention bookings.

Defense Business - Honolulu-based thermal engineering corporation wins a seven million dollar contract for mechanical engineering work in Hawaii, Guam and overseas. And Hawaiian Rock Products corporation of Guam wins a seven million dollar contract for taxiway repairs at Guam's air force base.

Cheap fares to Molokai - Pacific Wings is now offering all seats for $39 if ordered online, and canceled all Molokai baggage fees.

American Airlines says next month it will begin offering free beer, wine and spirits in its premium admirals clubs. Just a little value-add from AA... uh, American Airlines.
