HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Bruno Mars started as an Elvis impersonator at 4 years old; performed as Michael Jackson as a teenager and had lots of success on the national scene. He was just on the MTV Video Music Awards and his song "Just the Way You Are" is currently the most downloaded song on ITunes and #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Bruno was arrested and released on cocaine related charges in Las Vegas early Sunday morning at the Hard Rock Hotel. Las Vegas officials say the case is under review and formal charges have not yet been filed. Mars will be in court on November 18th.
A judge on Monday issues an arrest warrant for Lindsay Lohan after the actress acknowledged failing a drug test. The 24 year old actress could wind up back behind bars if she is found to have violated probation. The judge issued the bench warrant in Beverly Hills, but Lohan will remain free pending a Friday court hearing. Lohan confirmed on her Twitter page last week that she failed a court-ordered drug and alcohol screening.
New York Jets receiver Braylon Edwards has been arrested in Manhattan on a charge of driving while intoxicated. A law enforcement official tells the Associated Press that Edwards was pulled over on the West Side of Manhattan around 5:15am Tuesday because his vehicle had excessive tinting on its windows. The official says police noticed a strong smell of alcohol and arrested Edwards. The official was not authorized to speak about the case and spoke on the condition of anonymity. in January, Edwards was put on probation after pleading "No Contest" to misdemeanor aggravated disorderly conduct in Cleveland. Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum said in a statement that the Jets are disappointed and "will impose the appropriate disciplinary measures." He said Edwars had showed poor judgement.
