WAILUKU, Maui (HawaiiNewsNow) - It was a beautiful weekend to run, and thousands of people on Maui ran 26 miles. The Maui Marathon was held Sunday. Most of the 2,400 runners from all over the world completed the long and scenic course.
Coming in first place in the men's division was Matt Stevens of Honolulu, finishing with a time of 2 hours and 47 minutes. Among the women, Japan's Yoko Yamazawa took the women's title in 3 hours 13 minutes.
This year's race benefited around a dozen local and national charities.
