Coming up on Sunrise this morning

Happy Aloha Friday!

Today is the 3rd anniversary of Sunrise. We'll be celebrating this morning by looking back at some of our favorite moments from the show.

The head of Hawaii's Department of Transportation has accepted a job in the private sector. Brennon Morioka's last day at the DOT will be September 23. Mike Formby, deputy director of the DOT Harbors Division, will serve as acting director. Both men will stop by the studio to discuss the transition.

George Ariyoshi is trying to inspire future leaders in the islands. The former governor will tell us about an essay contest inspired by his book titled, Hawaii: The Past Fifty Years, The Next Fifty Years.

You can catch all of these stories and segments streaming live online from 4:30 - 9:00 a.m. on or on KGMB, KHNL and on KFVE. If you missed one, watch it later on our website.

Grace Lee and Sunny will be back in the studio on Monday.
