CUH WS: Chaminade falls to HPU 4-0

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - In the second match of a Chaminade/HPU doubleheader, the Silverswords lost to HPU 4-0 in the Pac West conference opener for both teams.

Chaminade's Dominique Bocanegra (Brisbane, CA, Terra Nova) took two shots for the Swords. Meghan Fuller scored for the Sea Warriors in the 28th and 39th minutes to help HPU go up 2-0 at the break. Fuller tallied two goals on the match for the Sea Warriors.

HPU tacked on goals in the 52nd and 67th minutes for the 4-0 final. Sword senior goalkeeper Marissa Minor (Captain Cook, HI/Konawaena) stopped eight shots in defeat.

The Swords were out-shot 22-2, managing a shot in both halves of the contest.

With the loss, the Swords move to 0-3. HPU improves to 1-3. Chaminade is back in action on September 21th at BYU-Hawaii. Game time is set for 12:30 PM HT on the campus of BYU-Hawaii.
