Marijuana plants taken in Puna home invasion

KURTISTOWN, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) – A 39-year-old Puna man was injured early Wednesday morning after two suspects broke into a home. The suspects, one of whom was armed with a rifle, left with several large marijuana plants after assaulting the victim.

The suspects drove into the home's driveway in a large gray colored truck at around 4:40 AM. While a 51-year-old woman and a 92-year-old man hid from the suspects, the alleged assailants attacked the 39-year-old, who sustained a head injury.The victim was transported to Hilo Medical Center, where he was later treated and released.
