Calling all schools and non-profits! need to raise money during the holiday season? Both Windward Mall and Ward Centers are accepting applications for their Festival of Giving. Each venue will offer special discounts and freebies during a weekend in November. Groups can sell tickets for $5.00 or $10.00 each and keep 100 percent of the proceeds. Last year's events helped non-profits raise more than $145,000.

Did you know there is a Worldwide Dwarf Soccer Federation? They promote self-esteem along with the sport. Now in the Middle East, members of an Iranian dwarf soccer team hope to one day compete against international teams. The 25-member team came together 15 months ago and practices twice a week. The players average about 4 feet tall and include a 64 year old grandfather.

Check out this man flying around in a jet pack! He is promoting the worldwide release of the new video game Halo Reach for the XBox 360. Halo is one of the world's most popular gaming franchises, selling more than 34 million units worldwide and netting nearly $2 billion in sales. But we're more interested in getting one of those jet packs!

And a familiar face will soon be joining the Hawaii 5-0 cast. Hawaii-born actress Kelly Hu has landed a role and will be on Oahu for filming next week. Hu told the Star-Advertiser that she will be a staffer for the show's fictional governor. So far she's only been written into one episode.
