Coming up on Sunrise this morning

Good Tuesday Morning Sunrisers,

Authorities are investigating an early morning collision involving a police car and another vehicle. The crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Farrington Highway near Maaloa Street in Nanakuli. A witness told Hawaii News Now that paramedics took the officer and the driver of the other vehicle to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time. Watch Sunrise for updates.

The battle for the city's top job heats up tonight as the leading candidates for Honolulu mayor face off in our 90 minute live debate. It's sponsored by Hawaii News Now, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, the Hawaii Carpenters Union, and Pacific Resource Partnership with Hawaii's Children First. You can watch candidates Kirk Caldwell, Peter Carlisle, Panos Prevedouros, and Rod Tam tackle tough topics at 6:30 on KFVE, KGMB and KHNL. The debate will also be streamed live on our website. Political analyst Dan Boylan will join us this morning to offer his insight.

We'll continue our in-depth discussions this week with the top gubernatorial candidates. GOP underdog John Carroll will stop by to discuss why he deserves to win the Republican nomination in Saturday's primary election.
