WEST POINT, NY (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Warriors held their first walk through at Michie Stadium Friday afternoon.
Coach Greg McMackin said he wanted his players to experience just some of the ambiance the eighty-six year old stadium holds inside its walls.
Friday marked the first time Hawaii stepped foot on the soil at West Point but there was no seven on seven or position drills. Instead the Warriors spent about an hour getting used to the turf and taking in their new surroundings.
The only game plan University of Hawaii went through was to have the special teams get used to the spacing of the field for opening kickoff.
The pressure from both sidelines will culminate in a very emotional Saturday afternoon.
The ninth anniversary of the September 11th attacks will be honored in a pre-game parade right outside of Michie stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 a.m. Hawaii time Saturday.
