BOULDER, CO (HawaiiNewsNow) - There will be lots of aloha in Colorado next weekend, and not just because the Warriors will play against the Buffaloes. It's also because of the three- day Aloha Festival in Colorado.
Lieutenant Governor James "Duke" Aiona signed the official proclamation Thursday. The festival will feature all things Hawaiian, including food, entertainment, hula and lei making.
"They bring up native sons from Hawaii to join those who are now relocated in Colorado and they make it a typical Hawaiian paina, which means they go for days. Not one day, but days. They party for days" said Aiona.
"The festival will reunite Colorado's spirit of the West, with Hawaii's spirit of aloha. So it doesn't get much better than that" said Richard "Mac" McEntee of the Colorado Aloha Festival.
This will be the third time the event is held. It takes place every two years. Hawaii News Now general manager Rick Blangiardi, who is president of the Na Koa Football Club was also on hand for the announcement.
