HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two Hawaii-based soldiers have been killed in Iraq, the first since U.S. combat operations were declared ended.

Sergeant Phillip Jenkins and Private First Cass James McClamrock were both stationed at Schofield Barracks.

Officials say, they were part of a group of soldiers providing security for a U.S. commander, when an Iraqi opened fire.
