HONOLULU (AP) - The 300-member South Oahu County Farm Bureau is endorsing Democrat Mufi Hannemann for governor. Hannemann, the former mayor of Honolulu, announced the endorsement on Monday.
Bureau President Douglas Luka says Hannemann understands the challenges facing agriculture. Luka says Hannemann's vision for agriculture addresses land and water use, transportation and labor, which are substantial hurdles facing the industry.
Hannemann is seeking the Democratic nomination against former US Representative Neil Abercrombie. The primary is September 18.
