Pansit Noodles, Pilipino Style Noodles

 

Ingredients:          ½ pack pancit bihon noodles

                             ½ lb shrimp, peeled and devein 

1 cooked chicken breast, shredded

2 cups of chicken broth

1/4 cabbage, sliced into strips

1 onion, pealed and sliced

3 cloves of garlic, crushed and minced

1/3 cup scallions, cut into pieces

1 carrot, sliced into strips

2 tablespoons of cooking oil

3/4 cup diced celery

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons Oyster sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

5 pieces of calamansi or 1 lemon, sliced

 

Preparation:

~Soak the bihon noodles to soften for 10 minutes

~ In a non-stick sauté pan add vegetable oil, onions and garlic, cook for a minute.

~ Add shrimp and cook for another minute,  add the chicken broth, the shredded chicken breast and all the vegetables until cooked.

~ Mix in the bihon noodles and add the soy sauce, cook for about 5 minutes or until the noodles are soft.    Season with salt and pepper to taste and garnish with calamansi or lemon on the side. And squeeze in before serve.

 

Pork Guisantes

 

Ingredients

 

    * 2 tbsp oil

    * 1 onion, sliced

    * 2 cloves garlic, minced

    * 1 1/2 lb lean pork, sliced in small pieces

    * 1 tbsp soy sauce

    * 2 tbsp patis

    * 2 cups water or chicken stock

    * 1 bay leaf

    * 3 oz. tomato paste

    * 1 pkg (6 oz) frozen peas

    * 1 cup Garbanzo beans

    * 1 cup Pimientos, dices (pepper)

    * Salt to taste

 

Directions

 

Heat oil in large skillet. Saute garlic, onions and pork until browned. Add soy sauce, patis, water and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until pork is tender, about 15 minutes. Add tomato paste, peas and pimientos. Simmer for 5 more minutes. Salt to taste.
