Fire rips through Pahoa home

PAHOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A family of seven is homeless on the Big Island.  Fire ripped through their Pahoa house and destroyed a truck parked nearby.  Firefighters were called to the home around 5:30 Sunday afternoon.  It was reported under control at 6:29 p.m. and extinguished at 7:45 p.m.  Two adults and five children lived in the home.  Firefighters report that the home was fully involved when they arrived, causing $320,000 in damage.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  The Red Cross is helping the family.
