HONOLULU (AP) - The two major Democratic candidates for governor are set to participate in a debate sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii and the Hawaii Medical Assurance Association.
Former Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann and former U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie will meet on Tuesday at noon at the Plaza Club in Honolulu.
The two men will vie for their party's nomination at the Sept. 18 Democratic primary, along with three lesser-known contenders.
The winner is likely to face Republican Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona on Nov. 2.
