Local jobless claims: 2,100 new applications

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii first time jobless claims rose a little in the latest weekly report, but total claims fell again.

Hawaii saw 2,100 new applications.

That's about 200 more than the week before, but still the second lowest since June.

Total claims fell statewide to just under 17,000.

    HONOLULU, Hawaii - Family member say the victim in a Mililanii assault case has died.  52-year-old Thomas Morikawa was taken off life support Friday, according to family members. Police say, Morikawa was punched at Jungle Juice Market on December 8.
