Coming up on Sunrise this morning

Good Season Opener Day Sunrisers!

Yes, it's all about football. Steve, Taizo and I will be live from Aloha Stadium as the Warriors prepare to take on and take down the USC Trojans. We have some great guests lined up including Coach Greg McMackin, sports writer Stephen Tsai and UH Associate Athletics Director John McNamara.

How do players get psyched up before a big game? Steve sits down with former Warrior Leonard Peters to find out.

Worried about parking? Don't be. Taizo will have some tips on when the gates open, alternate parking sites and new bus service to the stadium if you're headed out to the game.

The UH Band will give us a preview of their halftime performance. The cheerleaders will show us how they hope to be more interactive with the fans. Should we form a pyramid out of the Sunrise crew?

Want to BBQ Morton's steaks for the game? We're giving away a prize pack that you can take with you to the stadium to grill up some beef.

And of course, we'll bring you the latest news of the day. Here are some highlights.

The trial is scheduled to begin today for accused child molester Gerard Mueden. Prosecutors accuse the photographer of fondling two children at Lehua Elementary. This is the second time Mueden has been indicted by a grand jury.

The state senate will vote today on whether to confirm Chief Justice nominee Mark Recktenwald. Watch for updates on Sunrise.

The toddler who was run over in a Waialua driveway has been identified. The medical examiner confirmed that 18 month old Tayzah Kekumu was killed when her father backed up out of the driveway.

Make sure to forward this email to your family and friends, so we can add to our Sunrise Ohana. We also want to hear from you! Send your comments and suggestions to

You can catch all of these stories and segments streaming live online from 4:30 - 9:00 a.m. on or on KGMB, KHNL and on KFVE. If you missed one, watch it later on our website.
