HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office has determined that an Oahu Community Correctional Center inmate, who collapsed in the infirmary in July, died of natural causes.

Further testing revealed Renee Lessary, 37, died from "cardiac tamponade due to massive hemopericardium due to a ruptured dissecting aortic aneurysm," or simply an accumulation of blood in the sac around the heart.

The ME also cited her history of methamphetamine use and hypertension as significant factors.

Lessary was arrested on suspicion of theft and was at OCCC awaiting trial.
