Howzit Howard: nine percent more visitors in July

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state tourism authority counted nine percent more visitors in July, but their spending rose 23 percent from the same time last year. Total spending, $1.1 billion, which will probably turn out to be the best month of the year. We won't know August spending for another month, but arrivals were up seven percent, still pretty good.

Nissan unveiled its electric car at the Hawaii Convention Center as promised... and unveiled an agreement with the state for joint promotion of electric cars and recharging stations.

Hawaii has 1,100 cattle operations and two-thirds brand their cattle. If you do, you have to register your brand every five years. The period for doing this starts today and runs through year's end.
