Two House Republicans endorse Finnegan
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two members of the Republican Minority Caucus of the Hawaii State Legislature announced their support for Minority Leader Lynn Finnegan's campaign for lieutenant governor. The endorsements were announced Monday morning.
Representative Barbara Marumoto, who has represented the Kahala-Waialae area since 1978 said she was excited to see Finnegan take the next step in her political career.
"She understands what the private sector is experiencing today and will work to stimulate our economy through sustainable means like private sector job creation" said Marumoto in a statement.
Finnegan also picked up the endorsement of Representative Cynthia Thielen, who represents Kailua and Kaneohe. Thielen praised Finnegan's bipartisan leadership and said that she would "continue the good works started under the Lingle-Aiona administration."
"…Lynn understands the importance of our pursuit of a clean energy economy and is committed to seeing it to the next level through a variety of sources like wave, solar, wind and geothermal energy" said Thielen.
Finnegan has represented the Aiea-Pearlridge area since 2003. She faces Honolulu attorney Adrienne King for the Republic nomination in the September 18 primary.
