He lost his arms at age ten, but that didn't stop him from learning to play the piano.. and now, Liu Wei is a rising music star in China. Wei took up piano when he was in his teens, learning to play with his feet. Just this month he was thrust into the spotlight when he appeared on the show "China's Got Talent." He received a standing ovation after his first performance and moved many in the audience to tears.
On the Valley Isle, 6 green sea turtles are now swimming in the ocean for the first time. They were hatched at Oahu's Sea Life Park, but were raised at the Maui Ocean Center. Now 2 years old and about 30 pounds each, they're finally healthy enough to make it on their own. The were released at Five Graves Beach on Maui's south shore.
Brenton Awa, a former associate producer here at Hawaii News Now has been pursuing he career on the East Coast. But he took some time off to catch the Waipio Little Leaguers in action. Our eagle-eyed sports producer kept spotting Brenton on yesterday's ESPN coverage in Pennsylvania. As usual, Brenton was a cool customer, and leaves the wild cheering up to the rest of the fans. We'll be looking for him during today's game.
