WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Waikiki Natatorium was built in 1927 as a tribute to Hawaii's World War I veterans, but it has been closed to the public since 1979. As the city moves forward with demolition plans for parts of the aging memorial, a community group is still pushing for a restoration effort.
A benefit concert is being organized this weekend by Friends of the Natatorium. Go to www.natatorium.org for more information.
