WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) – Police say that a teen girl used a discreet Facebook message to alert her sister she was being held against her will. In court documents released Wednesday, prosecutors say that 27-year-old Mukadin Daquin Gordon would not allow the girl to leave a unit at the Ala Wai King Apartments Sunday night.
In the indictment, prosecutors say that the girl showed up at the apartment after having an argument with her mother Saturday night. The girl then allegedly asked Gordon if she could go to see her ex-boyfriend, to which Gordon said no "there will be no more of that".
The girl then asked if she could go for a walk and Gordon allegedly told her that she could not leave. Later on the girl covertly messaged her sister that she was being held against her will via Facebook. Investigators say she indicated that she was in fear for her life and gave the address of the apartment.
When officers arrived to investigate, they said the girl was very afraid and told them that Gordon had made her work as a prostitute two months ago. Police arrested Gordon Sunday night on suspicion of kidnapping in the first degree and promoting prostitution in the first degree.
