HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Two patients who escaped from the Hawaii State Hospital in Kaneohe on separate occasions have been caught. 39-year-old Pomale Falaniko and 26-year-old Alfred Paul Godfrey were both arrested Wednesday morning.
Falaniko was picked up on Sumner Street in Iwilei at 4:35 AM. Godfrey was arrested at the corner of Bethel and Merchant Streets in downtown at 5:32 AM. Both were arrested on suspicion of second-degree escape.
Godfrey walked away from a meeting he was attending last Tuesday at the River of Life Church in downtown Honolulu. He was with two other patients and a hospital supervisor. At the end of the meeting, Godfrey could not be located.
