Local bands gather in Kona for Throwback Jam

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Taking you back to where it all started with the originators of the Island Music Sound, KAPENA, MANA'O COMPANY, BRUDDAH WALTAH, and HO'AIKANE. HI Rise and Hawaii's Finest presented this same line-up and show in Honolulu in May and it was incredible! Good Music, Good Cause, Good Times! Now the show will happen in Kona, the home turf of Ho`aikane. This is going to be the feel good concert of the year! It will be a show to remember and to bring back the memories! A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Mana Maoli to assist in funding upcoming projects, including a third CD Compilation project. Mana Maoli is an organization that works with a network of Public Charter Schools to develop curriculum and raise funds. These schools implement some of the most innovative, progressive, and successful curricula in the public education system, yet, are some of the least funded educational programs in Hawai`i. Mana Maoli's compilation efforts have helped to raise money for these schools and produced momentous collaborations between superstar Jack Johnson and local favorite Paula Fuga ("Country Road"), as well as the All-Star lineup of the Mana Maoli Collective band.
