WILLIAMSPORT, PA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Waipio little league baseball players aren't the only ones living their dreams at this year's World Series. Cliff Yaguchi is a local umpire from Pearl City who's been waiting patiently for a shot to call these games.
Yaguchi has applied every year for 15 years now, hoping to get the nod to Williamsport. And his wish came true. He's umpired six games so far at the tournament, and as an added bonus, he gets to cheer on his hometown team.
"You don't know how it feels man, for the rest of the umpires in Hawaii, I wish you could come… it's been awesome because Waipio is here representing and they're from my district back home and it's a big thrill for the kids and myself as well, we got the double barrel going on for ourselves right now" said Yaguchi.
Yaguchi is only the third umpire from Hawaii to have the opportunity to be a part of the Little League World Series.
