HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii Five-O star Scott Caan has suffered a knee injury but the show hasn't had to slow down in his absence. In fact, the injury will become part of a future episode. Caan plays the part of Detective Danny Williams, aka "Danno", the sidekick of lead character Steve McGarrett, who is portrayed by Australian actor Alex Loughlin.

Caan, who's had some knee problems in the past, was hurt last week while filming a stunt for the show, according to the New York Post. The 33-year-old actor flew to Los Angeles to have surgery and is expected to return to work on Oahu on Monday. He won't miss any episodes, and the show continued filming without him in the meantime.

Hawaii Five-O will premiere Monday, September 20 at 9:00 PM on KGMB. If you can't wait you can catch it one week earlier, at Sunset on the Beach on September 13.
