Good Things: August 18, 2010

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Let's take a look at some of the Good Things in the news...

The U-S News and World Report puts the University of Hawaii at 159th out of 262 universities in the country. That's tied with Texas Tech and five other schools. The Manoa campus is also ranked as an A-Plus for B Students.. where "non-superstars have a decent shot at being accepted and thriving."

A lot of guys spend their day off fishing or playing golf, but not too many of them enjoy their free time with a backhoe. State and city construction workers from across Utah competed in the annual Dig Off where workers use backhoes to work their way through obstacle courses in the least amount of time.. with the least amount of penalties. Manuvering the huge equipment makes even the simplest task.. like lifting a metal bar or fishing for iron "fish".. a difficult job.
