HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Until now, Holiday Inn's only Waikiki landfall was that little property next to the Wailana. But Outrigger has agreed to let Holiday Inn rebrand the Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber, right across the street from the Diamond Head end of Royal Hawaiian Center. Outrigger will still manage it, with the same people. Rebranding happens in November.
The state workplace safety agency has issued several asbestos violations against Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center. Loca Five blew the whistle on the asbestos. Asbestos used to be widely used as a flame retardant in construction, but its needle-shaped fibers embed themselves in the lungs until scar tissue impedes breathing.
