Oahu saw 268 July home sales (up from 266 a year ago) for a median price of $605,000 (up from $595,000) while buyers closed on 320 condo sales (down from 343 a year ago) for a median $299,000 (down from $307,250), the Honolulu Board of Realtors reported Monday.
The Hawaii Information Service reported 120 home sales and 41 condo sales on the Big Island in July. Prices fell on the Big Island except in Puna District, where the median rose slightly to $170,000. There were more sales in Puna than in any other district.
Kauai saw 25 home sales and 18 condo sales. The islandwide median home price rose, but only because sales shifted to pricier areas. Four of the five districts actually saw prices decline. The except was Hanalei.
Earlier, the Realtors Association of Maui reported 61 home sales, up 3% from a year ago, and 69 condo sales, down 12% from July 2009. Median home prices fell roughly $30,000 for both.
