Man pulled from water off Leeward coast was Japanese visitor

KO OLINA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man who drowned Sunday off the Leeward coast was a visitor from Japan. The medical examiner identified him Monday as 50-year-old Hideaki Uchibori.

Officials say a good Samaritan on a boat spotted him having what appeared to be a heart attack while in the water. They pulled him out, gave CPR and brought him to Ko Olina Yacht Harbor. Uchibori was transported to the hospital, where he died.
