HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Ardent Management is opening a software development center at the Maui Research & Technology park in Kihei. Ardent does geospatial software for homeland security. Ardent said having operations and just outside Washington, D.C. extends its work cycle to 14 hours so its team can accomplish more.
The Marine Corps plans to base two dozen osprey tilt-rotor aircraft and newer helicopters at Kaneohe, starting in 2012. Public hearings in three weeks. This could create a thousand jobs. Territorial Savings Bank posted a $3 million second quarter profit, up from $2 million a year ago. Revenue was about $13 million, compared to $11 million last year. CEO Allan Kitigawa says deposits and loan portfolio both grew despite the economic slump.
