Giant wind turbines are transported on Oahu

KAHUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Trucks hauling huge trailers slowed traffic on Oahu Friday.  First Wind, a wind energy company, began delivering parts for their giant wind turbines. They were moved from Barbers Point to their final destination in Kahuku.

Once the parts are set up, Kahuku's wind project should be able to power nearly 8,000 homes and help reduce oil consumption and carbon dioxide emissions on Oahu.
