Jacksonville, FL (HawaiiNewsNow) - Just as promised Tyson Alualu's second day at Jaguars practice ended in a one-on-one showdown against fellow Kalihi native Vince Manuwai (Hawaii 99-02) in the "Oklahoma Drill."
Jacksonville's newest addition, Alualu (Jacksonville's 1st round pick), held his own in three confrontations in which he attempted to discard Manuwai and tackle rookie running back Deejay Karim in a matter of seconds. Alualu never tackled Karim but he did manage to de-cleat Manuwai twice. The matchup was hyped earlier in the week by Jacksonville head coach Jack Del Rio who likes to use the drill to initiate new players onto the team.
When asked who won the battle, Manuwai said, "Watch the internet...that's what they got it for right. I enjoyed it man."
Alualu's responded, "It was just another chance to go against Vince Manuwai. Someone that I grew up next to and looked up to. It was a good opportunity for me and I enjoyed doing it."
