KAILUA –KONA (HawaiiNewsNow) – Police on the Big Island are looking for witnesses of a deadly head-on crash. It happened August 1 on Belt Road in south Kona. 31-year-old Stella Corona of Kealakekua was killed by an oncoming car that police say was driven by 26-year-old Robert Smith Jr of Honaunau. Two of Corona's passengers were also hurt in the crash.
Smith's license had already been revoked for life. He was arrested and faces several charges including negligent homicide, manslaughter and regularly driving while intoxicated. Investigators are looking for anyone who may have seen the crash or what smith was doing earlier that day.
