WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) – Prosecutors charged a man with terroristic threatening Saturday for allegedly trying to run over a sheriff's deputy with his car on Thursday morning. 48-year-old Kevin Pacheco was then arrested in the lobby of the Ocean Resort Hotel in Waikiki Friday morning.

Authorities say the deputies were trying to serve an eight-count grand jury drug warrant on Kevin Pacheco Thursday morning when he tried to run them down with his car. It happened along Kalukalu Street near Waipahu Elementary School at about 10:15 AM.

Deputies shot at Pacheco's car, but he fled the scene. Police later found his white Honda Civic abandoned on Kahaulua Street, where witnesses told police that Pacheco had gotten into a white flatbed pickup truck driven by another male.

Pacheco is being held at the main police cellblock on $100,000 bail. He is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday.
