HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Governor says she's in no rush to sign off on the city's rail project. Wednesday, the city awarded a $5.5 million contract for the design of the West Loch, Waipahu and Leeward Community College stations along Farrington Highway.
The state also hired a consultant to do a financial analysis of the project. The Governor says, the state office of quality control is now reviewing the environmental impact statement.
The city cannot break ground until the Governor accepts the EIS. And she said, she has no time frame for a decision.
