HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hôkû award winning musician and composer, Kainani Kahaunaele (ka-how-NIGH-ele), is back with her much-anticipated second album. Amy talked story with Kainani and her producer, Shawn Pimentel, about working on her ʻÔhai ʻUla project.

The title track, ʻÔhai ʻUla, is an original for an amazing journey she experienced.

This was written for my trip to Nihoa on board the Hôkûleʻa; a very spiritual trip.

I love working with Kainani. She's one of those that I've had on my list of people to work with for many years. I've admired her not only as a musician and an artist and songwriter, but as a person.
