HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A half hour after takeoff a flight from Kona to San Francisco was forced to turn around Friday afternoon. The flight tracker showed United Flight 56 going around and around over the islands.
Hawaii News Now was told there was a maintenance issue and the pilot was going in circles to burn fuel before finally coming in for landing in Honolulu just after 3:00 PM. The 222 passengers on board were safely transferred to another plane.
