Oahu man charged with attempted murder and arson pleads not guilty

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An Oahu man accused of trying to kill his business partner, then lighting his house on fire, made his first court appearance Thursday morning. David Silverman pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and arson charges.

Police say Silverman stabbed David Davis, and set fire to his Pearl City home, reportedly over money. The pair are partners in the Waipahu-based 24-7 Towing Company.

At last check, Davis was in a coma.

Silverman's bail is set at $500,000. His next court appearance is set for July 27.
