NANAKULI (HawaiiNewsNow) - In Leeward Oahu, every student in Nanakuli High School's incoming freshman class now has their own personal laptop computer.
Nanakuli is one of 62 schools nationwide participating in the New Tech Network program.
The goal is to turn around low-performing schools by following a new learning model.
The teens will work together on group projects using their computers to access any information they may need.
About 200 freshmen at Waianae High School are also participating.
