KAPOLEI (HawaiiNewsNow) - City leaders broke ground on the future site of the East Kapolei fire station yesterday. The $10.9 million facility will be built on a two-acre site on Kinoiki Street.
It's across from the Department of Hawaiian Homelands. The station will house an engine and ladder company, and a tactical training ground that includes a four-story tower. Construction will begin later this year, and should be completed in December of 2011.
