Rugby tournament under way in Waikiki

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Second Annual Hawaii World Rugby Club Tournament will be held at Kapiolani Park this week. The tournament kicked off its first game on Monday and the finals will be played on Saturday, beginning at 11:00 AM.

There are twelve teams from all over the world, including New Zealand, American Samoa, Western Samoa, Utah, and Hawaii. The amateur tournament will be giving away $55,000 in prize money, which is the most cash given away for an amateur rugby event in the world. All prizes will go to the winning club.

The tournament is presented by Ma'ake and Chris Kemoeatu, both players for the NFL. The Hawaii State Rugby Union will manage the event.

All games will be played daily starting at 10 AM and there is no charge to the public.
