Good Things: July 13, 2010

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Let's take a look at some of the Good Things in the news.

Just off the coast of Florida, hundreds of divers gather for an underwater concert. The concert was sponsored by a local radio station. The divers and others heard music that emanated from speakers suspended from boats above. The playlist featured ocean anthems like the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" and Jimmy Buffet's "Fins". The event was also designed to show vacationers that Florida's waters are still a great place to dive.

A zoo in Germany proudly introduced its latest addition this week; a baby bonobo. The bonobo, similar to a chimpanzee, was born just three weeks ago but zookeepers don't know if the newborn is a male or female because they haven't had a chance to get close enough to check. Eight bonobos now call the Cologne Zoo home and they are part of only 170 bonobos in captivity around the world.
